Crew App is a private, workplace communication and scheduling tool used by the staff of participating stores. This policy explains what the app collects and how it is used.
When you open a document from Library in the phone app, a copy is written into Crew App's own private storage on your device and handed to whichever app you pick to read it — a PDF viewer, for example. From that moment the file is on your phone and in that app's hands, exactly as if you had downloaded it, and what happens to it next is between you and that app. Crew App does not send it anywhere else, and it clears its copy the next time you open a file.
This information is used only to operate the service — to show you your store's feed and schedule, deliver messages and notifications, and manage your account. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Access is limited to members of your own store and organization.
Your organization's leadership can see whether people are actually using the app — how many have signed in, who has never signed in, and who has not used it in the last month. Senior leadership can also see the date each person last used it. Your general manager and store managers cannot see that.
This is deliberately limited to a date. Crew App does not build an activity profile: nobody can see what you read, when you opened the app, how long you were in it, or how many messages you sent. Where being counted matters — reading a required article your manager published, for example — you are told at the time and it is specific to that one item.
If you allow push notifications, your device token is sent to Google Firebase Cloud Messaging solely to deliver Crew App notifications to your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account yourself from the sign-in screen — tap “Need to delete your account?”, enter your email address, and we email you a confirmation link. Confirming starts a 30-day countdown, after which your personal data is destroyed, your profile photo is deleted, and anything you wrote stays but is no longer connected to you. Nobody at your company can reverse a deletion you requested yourself — the only way back is being re-invited to the same email address and accepting.
Two things deliberately remain, and both are your employer's records rather than your Crew App account. Schedules your employer imports from their own scheduling system may continue to show your name, because those are your employer's staffing records rather than your Crew App account. Operational records your employer must keep — wage, tax and scheduling records — are held by them under their own retention obligations.
Full detail, including what is kept and what is erased, is on the account deletion page. If you cannot use the in-app flow, email cole@slicework.io.
